Siti Markhamah, S.Pt.,M.Han.
I am a disaster risk management and humanitarian program professional with more than 10 years of experience working across disaster risk reduction (DRR), community-based disaster management (CBDRM), climate resilience, gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI), and humanitarian response programs in Indonesia.
Over the years, I have worked in various roles that bridge strategic program design and field implementation, including coordination with government institutions, civil society organizations, and community-based actors. My experience includes working with MDMC and contributing to programs in collaboration with BNPB and other humanitarian stakeholders, particularly in strengthening community preparedness, data systems, and inclusive disaster response mechanisms.
I hold an academic background in social and development-related fields that has strengthened my analytical perspective and practical understanding of development and humanitarian issues. My education has been complemented by continuous learning through field experience, research engagement, and short courses, including international exposure in Japan and Australia.
My professional journey has shaped a strong interest in building systems that are not only responsive in emergencies but also inclusive, data-informed, and sustainable in the long term. I am particularly passionate about strengthening monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) systems, as well as integrating GEDSI principles into disaster and development programming.
Currently, I am focusing on expanding my work in MEAL and inclusive humanitarian programming, while continuing to develop skills in data visualization and evidence-based storytelling to support better decision-making in humanitarian and development contexts.
I am always open to opportunities for collaboration, learning, and knowledge exchange with individuals and organizations working in similar fields.
This portfolio brings together selected aspects of my professional journey, ranging from field-based experience in disaster risk reduction and humanitarian programming, to analytical work in MEAL, data visualization, and knowledge production. It reflects not only the roles I have undertaken, but also the type of work I am continuously developing—focused on strengthening evidence use, inclusion, and learning within humanitarian and development contexts. Each section below offers a different lens into this journey, from practice and implementation to analysis and documented outputs.
